Here’s another not horror movie that definitely still feels attached to the Halloween season for me. Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice is another character that has a lot of similarities to my life.
-moved from a city to New England
-went to a private school with a uniform
-parents didn’t take my advice
-love to wear the color black
-strange and unusual
-made friends with people dead (inside)
-almost married a dude who was not right for me

This outfit consists of an Exquz brand strapless black lace dress with asymmetrical hem that I am using as a skirt (and have had for so long it appears Exquz doesn’t even exist anymore), Mossimo black blouse with bell sleeves that I got at a clothing swap, and the same N.Y.L.A. Laurena Black Buckle Strap Wedge Booties I wore to be Nancy Downs from The Craft.

On top of that, I also layered a Maria Gabrielle long black cardigan that my mother gave me, and I wear a lot. The back has lace panels.

For my hair, I used the same clip-on bangs piece that I did for Donnie Darko and Wendy Torrance from The Shining. On top of that, I wore a hat that I don’t remember where I obtained. What I do remember is I bought it to replace a gray one I had that fell apart in the rain at my cousin’s funeral. #ThanksBrain

For my makeup, on my eyes I used the Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony matte eyeshadow in Marriage Matt(e)rial, Shell eye shadow from the Avon For The Love of Makeup Artist Palette, blackest black glimmerstick from Avon, NYX Super Fat Eye Marker, and black mascara. For my lips, I used NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cairo and Rimmel London Stay Satin Liquid Lipstick in 600 Scrunchie.

For my first prop, I used this Nikon camera that was a hand-me-down from my partner’s parent. It was sent out to us so both my partner and I can take pics with a dslr camera at the same time. I have future plans to photograph the moon, stars, and night sky. We will see if they ever come to fruition!

For my second prop, I have this journal that looks like the Handbook for the Recently Deceased that I bought from Hot Topic on clearance. I already filled it, so I grabbed it from my journal storage to use.

Catch me back here tomorrow for another “work with what you’ve got!” Halloween costume, cosplay outfit idea.
