There’s The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, Ash vs Evil Dead, and Evil Dead. Ashley “Ash” J. Williams is a character in all of them except the last where he only has a brief cameo. The original “The Evil Dead” made an impression on me not only because of the special effects but also because it was the first time I ever saw a tree penetrate a human being in a horror movie. I also truly believe that the main reason there is a fan base for this universe is because of Bruce Campbell’s portrayal of Ash Williams. Throughout the various iterations of the character the base costume gets altered, distressed, and destroyed with a variety of weapons (chainsaw, boomstick/shotgun, and power glove to name some of them), but for the purposes of this blog post, I will be focused on the foundational character outfit from the original 1981 film prior to any staining or damage. (I’m trying to #RecycleReduceReuse these pieces for future purposes.)

Outfit: J. Crew Chambray Button-up Long Sleeve Shirt
Old Navy Brown Corduroy Stretch Pants
Shoes: Sperry Top-Sider Ladyfish Light Brown Leather Plaid-lined Boots

Hair: Short Curly Black Wig
Makeup: A little lip balm maybe?
Accessories: Relic by Fossil belt

Prop 1: Axe

Prop 2: Dirt Shovel (not to be confused with my Snow Shovel)

Prop 3: Brown Leather Journal as a stand-in for the Book of the Dead aka Necronomicon Ex-Mortis
I found some sweet tutorials on Pinterest to make your own Necronomicon, but I have plans for this journal at a later date.
If I had a necklace (with or without the aqua-colored box) that looks like the necklace Ash gives to Linda, I would have incorporated that into my look too!

Catch me back here tomorrow for another post.
In the meantime, check out The Evil Dead: Ashley “Ash” J. Williams Vibes board on Pinterest.
