It seems like everyone became fans of Anya Taylor-Joy via The Queen’s Gambit, but I was already impressed with her after watching The Witch (sometimes stylized as The VVitch). This movie is definitely a slow burn, but every time I watch it, I like it more. I’d also like to recommend this analysis, the best review of the movie I have read thus far.
Usually, I try to avoid historical movie character recreations because while I know there are people who specialize in authentic time period pieces, I’m way more of a “work with what you have” type who aims for a similar vibe rather than factual accuracy. As such, I am well aware that some of the items I chose for this particular photo shoot would never be present in the 1630s New England setting of The VVitch. I’m still pretty happy with how this one turned out, even with the historical inaccuracies.

Outfit: Zanzea Dress
Previously seen as Samara Morgan from The Ring
Shoes: Baker’s Faux Fur & Suede Tall Boots

Outfit: In the church outfit, I wore a lace dickie top that I believe was my great-grandmother’s to stand in for the ruffle neckline Thomasin wears.

Outfit: Added Vintage GANTOS Chocolate Brown Moleskin Vest with Leaf Embroidery on top

Outfit: Tied up a green scarf to use as an apron

Hair: My natural hair with the ends faded out blue was put up into two braids. I also did this photo shoot directly after two others where I was wearing wigs and a wig cap, so the hair is a bit more frazzled than it would have been if I had done this character first.

Headwear: In some photos, I also wore a white scarf in place of a head bonnet.

Headwear: In the church outfit, I also wore a Straw Studios Bicolor Black and Straw Floppy Hat on top of the white scarf.

Makeup:
Lips: Ripe Rose Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick

Accessories: I used some cotton kitchen string to dangle in front of my vest and distract from the fact it has plastic buttons.

Accessories: Black Obsidian Beaded Necklace with Goat Pendant as a nod to Black Phillip #CapricornVibes🐐

Prop 1: My childhood baby doll Darcy.
Previously seen with Rosemary Woodhouse from Rosemary’s Baby and Dracula’s Bride from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Prop 2: Part of my compost bucket standing in for Thomasin’s goat milking bucket.

Catch me back here tomorrow for another post.
